Omar Rodriguez Martinez
Omar Rodriguez was born in Mexico and started his professional dance studies at Mexico City’s National Dance School for Classical and Contemporary Dance, from which he graduated in 2018. While there, he performed lead roles in La Fille Mal Gardée, Carnival of Venice, and Sylvia. He completed his apprenticeship at Mexico’s National Dance Company, participating as a dancer in The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Giselle, Don Quijote, Manon, and Swan Lake. Omar was a company dancer with Virginia National Ballet, performing roles in Aladdin, Carmen, and contemporary repertoire. Thereafter, he moved to New York City and joined the New York Dance Project performing Birthday Variations and Confetti by Gerald Arpino at varying venues in New York City plus Carmen and other contemporary works at Santa Fe College in Florida. He has worked as a demi soloist with Brooklyn Ballet for two productions of The Nutcracker at The King's Theater in Brooklyn. Omar was also a member of Eglevsky Ballet, performing modern and classical works in different venues around Long Island including the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts.
